Affordable: You can buy these at the dollar store if you'd like.
Portable: When I was working in the one year old class room, I had a stack of baking sheets on a shelf. I would announce that I was going to do my Brown Bear magnet story, and a handful of one year olds would go trotting over the the shelf and eagerly bring me a baking sheet or four....
Good for individual play. I would keep at least four baking sheets on my shelf, so if I wanted to set up a table as a center, I could. This is nice, because the children are able to interact with the same item as the other children in their center but still have the calmness of having their own board to themselves.
Interactive Scenery Panels:
Attach print outs to baking sheet using clear contact paper.
-Attach a scenery print to the sheet and have complimenting magnets paired with it for interactive play.
-Attach a picture of a coconut tree to the baking sheet, and use magnet letters as an interactive Chicka Boom tree.
If you would like it mounted to the wall, simply use command strips.
