Check out the books that I love!

As a teacher, I've read my share of books, and they are not all winners, but who has the time to screen them all...?  Well, I've done it for you.  Below I have listed my favorite books, what age they are best for, a book summary, and links to most of the books read on YouTube, and links to purchase them on Amazon.com.

Take Heart, My Child

This book is best for infants to two years old children.  This book is a beautiful tale of a mother's love for her child illustrated in the most beautiful way.

Flip, Flap, Fly!

This book is best for 1-2 years old.  This is my FAVORITE book for the younger children.  The art is well done and adorable.  The story is cute and catchy.  Must have in my opinion.

The Rainbow Fish

This book is best for ages 3-5 and is a great "tail" about sharing versus selfishness.

Trashy Town

This book is best for 4-5 year old children.  This book is pretty catchy and gives the children opportunity to be interactive in a repeat line.  Kids love things they can interact with!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This book is best for children 1-2 years old.  This book a cute story about a hungry caterpillar.

The Green Mother Goose

by David Davis and Jan Peck

This book is best for 4-5 year olds.  The book jacket reads "In this lyrical and playful invitation to go green, Mother Goose's lively rhymes have been recycled as fun, eco-friendly verses with a wonderful mission."  This is great for any day, but be sure to bring it out for Earth day.  I really, mostly liked the visual interest they created.

Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?

This book helps kids identify animals (polar bear, lion, hippo, flamingo, zebra, boa constrictor, elephant, leopard, peocock, walrus)from the zoo and the noises they make. 
Best for ages 1-2.

Pete the Cat

Appropriate for children 3-5.  These are very popular books, and I believe they are for a very good reason.  Because they are good.... These are really great because it provides opportunities for the children to interact by interjecting simple phrases, which gets them excited.  This set includes 5 Pete the Cat books: Play Ball!, Pete's Big Lunch, Pete at the Beach, A Pet for Pete, Too Cool for School.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

I love all of these books!  Best for ages 3-5.  The illustrations are fantastic and the words well written.  This book talk about how we should act when we are mad.

Me with You

This book is best for infant to one year old children.  This story is about the bound between an older male bear with a younger girl bear.

Here's A Little Poem

I've use this book as young as infant for reading them to sleep.  The illustrations for this book are really cute.  Lots of mini poems, so it can easily fill up as little or as much time as you need.

Baby Monkey, Private Eye

Best for ages 4-5 years old.  Baby monkey is a private eye that helps solve where missing things have gone to.  The illustrations are the strongest part of this book and the story line is more implied, but the pictures are epic.

Llama Llama's Little Library

This great book set is best for ages 3-5.  This set includes:

Llama Llama Wakey-Wake, Nighty-Night, Hoppity-Hop, Zippity-Zoom.

I am a big fan of any Llama Llama book.  This fun character addresses many of the same dilemmas as our tiny humans and gives them opportunity to relate.

Giraffes Can't Dance

This book is best for ages 3-5.  "A favorite tale of gentle inspiration for ever child with dreams of greatness."

Bear Feels Sick

This book is best for ages 3-5 years old.  The illustrations in this book are amazing and it is well written as well.  The kids I have read it to seem to enjoy empathizing with the bear and relating it to their personal experiences.

Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site

This book is best for ages 3-5 years old.  This book is great!  One of my favorite!  The illustrations are fantastic.  This book teaches the children about what different construction vehicles are utilized for while giving them personalities.
