In a perfect world, elastics would be easy to take out of your child's hair. I had been told by some friends that I should use scissors to cut them out. I shuttered at the thought of bringing something sharp up to my daughter's head while she might potentially move suddenly. That's when I came up with this parent hack. Use animal nail clippers to remove the elastics from your child's hair. The tips are rounded, so it greatly reduces the potential for mishaps. You are welcome!
